Honest answer: two reasons.
First — we genuinely believe that not having a professional website is one of the most unnecessary obstacles small business owners face. The tech barrier shouldn't be what keeps you from looking credible. Entrepreneurs work hard enough already.
Second — we built FableForge because we believe in what it does for service-based businesses. Once you're on the platform, you'll see what it can do beyond just a website — and a lot of people find it becomes the foundation for how they run their whole business.
So we take on the build work upfront because we're confident you'll find value in staying. That's the trade — we invest the time, you give the platform a real shot.

Here's What the Process Looks Like
Step 1: Apply Click the button above to apply. If your project isn't a fit for this program (too large in scope, wrong business type, etc.), we'll let you know within 2–3 business days — and if it's a scope issue, we're happy to provide a quote for a custom build instead. If you're a good fit, you'll be added to our waitlist and notified on or before the 5th of each month whether you've been selected that month or held for the next. We only take 3 projects per month, and we prioritize applicants we feel we can serve well.
Step 2: Choose your plan and get set up Once approved, you'll sign up for your chosen FableForge plan. We'll send you a short intake form to collect your branding, content, and any images you want to use.
Step 3: We build it Our team builds out your site on FableForge, applying your branding and content (or placeholders where content is still in progress). We connect your domain and make sure everything is live and optimized.
Step 4: You review and we refine Before anything goes live, you'll review the site and let us know if anything needs adjusting. We'll make revisions until it feels right.
Step 5: You get your keys We walk you through what you have, show you how to make updates yourself, and hand it over. It's yours — you have full access and control.

Will I get to review the site before it goes live?
Yes. Before we hand anything over, you'll review the full site and we'll make adjustments until it feels right. Nothing goes live without your approval.
Do I own the website?
You own all your content. The website is hosted on FableForge — similar to how a Squarespace site lives on Squarespace's infrastructure. If you ever cancel your plan, you'd need to migrate to another platform (we can help with that too).
What if I don't have all my content ready?
That's fine. We can build with placeholder content so the structure is in place, and you can fill in the final copy when you're ready. Just be transparent about your timeline in the application.
Can I add pages later?
Yes. Once the site is handed to you, you can edit and add pages yourself. The FableForge builder is designed to be used by non-developers.
What if I need newsletter signup or booking functionality on my site?
The $25/month plan doesn't include email marketing or booking calendars. You'd need to bring your own (Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Calendly, etc.) and we can embed those. Or, the $127/month full suite includes both — so everything's in one place.
How long does the build take?
Once we have everything we need from you (branding, content, domain access), most sites are completed within 2–3 weeks.
What happens if I'm not selected this month?
There are two possibilities. If your project isn't a fit for this program at all (too complex in scope, requires functionality we don't offer here, etc.), we'll let you know within 2–3 business days of applying — and if it's a scope issue, we can discuss a custom quote. If you're a good fit but we've filled our spots for the month, you stay on our waitlist automatically and we'll consider you again the following month. No need to reapply. We notify everyone on or before the 5th of each month.
